The first Strides to Thrive Walk was held last spring to support Jewish Foundation for Group Homes, one of the country's leading disability support organizations. Hundreds of walkers helped to raise money for the Gary and Annette Henkin Activities Fund, connecting disabled adults with events and programs in our area.
Today, JFGH has grown to 22 homes and support for more than 165 disabled individuals living in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The mission of JFGH is to increase the independence, dignity, choice and community inclusion of adults with disabilities. The new Activities Fund will support a wider offering of activities for residents, to allow them to get out and about and be more active in the community.
To help, consider donating to the new Activiites Fund or volunteering to connect residents with activities - and each other. With your support, disabled adults will continue to thrive.
